Roast Turkey With Cornbread Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 12 to 14 lb turkey
  • 5 stalks celery
  • 5 medium white onions
  • 1 bell pepper
  • Cornbread recipe included
  • 2 slices toasted white bread
  • 1 12 sticks butter melted
  • 5 eggs
  • salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Remove giblets and neck from turkey reserve for giblet gravy Cover giblets and neck with water cook slowly until tender Wash turkey thoroughly with cold water pat dry
  2. Pour salt in palm of hand and rub over turkey and in cavity of turkey
  3. Combine chopped celery onion and bell pepper in large boiler cover with water
  4. Cook until onions are clear celery very tender and most of water absorbed
  5. Cool
