Rolled Buttermilk Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 12 tsp baking powder
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 12 c buttermilk

Directions

  1. Sift flour with baking powder soda and salt
  2. Add buttermilk and mix lightly with a fork
  3. Turn out on a floured board or pastry cloth
  4. Knead lightly 4 or 5 times
  5. Roll or pat out to 14-inch thick cut into rectangles 1 x 3-inch with a floured knife
  6. Drop into boiling stew
  7. Cover and boil gently 10 to 12 minutes
  8. Do not uncover while cooking
