Rum Duff

Ingredients

  • 2 c canned applesauce
  • 14 c sugar
  • 3 Tbsp rum or 1 tsp rum extract
  • 1 Tbsp grated orange rind
  • 2 c broken gingersnaps
  • 12 c heavy cream whipped

Directions

  1. Combine applesauce sugar rum grated orange rind and gingersnaps
  2. Stir until well mixed
  3. Chill
  4. Just before serving fold in whipped cream and pile into sherbet dishes
  5. If desired top with additional cream and nuts
