Russian Eggs
Ingredients
- 14 eggs
- 1 green pepper diced
- 1 large onion sliced
- seasoning Tabasco garlic oregano
- 8 slices white bread
- cooked bacon ham or sausage
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts drained
- 2 cans mushrooms drained
- 4 tomatoes diced
- sharp Cheddar cheese slices
Directions
- Beat eggs and season to taste
- Simmer pepper and onion rings until tender-crisp
- Line well-oiled 9 x 12-inch pan with bread slices
- Cover bread with meat and layer vegetables except tomatoes over meat
- Pour eggs over all
- Press down
- Let stand overnight
