Russian Teacakes

Ingredients

  • 1 c softened butter
  • 12 c sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 14 c plain flour
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 34 c finely chopped pecans

Directions

  1. Mix butter sugar and vanilla thoroughly
  2. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method or by sifting with salt then measure Blend flour and salt with butter mixture
  3. Mix in nuts
  4. Chill at least 30 minutes
  5. Make into 1-inch balls
  6. Place on ungreased baking sheet
  7. Bake at 350 on middle shelf of oven 8 to 12 minutes check bottoms for browning
  8. Roll in powdered sugar while still warm
  9. Cool
  10. Roll again roll a third time to make whiter
  11. Yields about 4 dozen
