Sally Lunn Bread
Ingredients
- 1 c milk
- 12 c shortening
- 14 c water
- 4 c sifted all-purpose flour divided
- 13 c sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 pkg yeast
- 3 eggs
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 10 minutes before baking
- Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan
- Heat milk shortening and water to very warm
- Blend 1 13 cups flour with sugar salt and dry yeast in large bowl
- Blend warm liquids into flour at medium speed for 2 minutes
- Add 23 cup remaining flour and eggs and beat at high speed for 2 minutes
- Add rest of flour and mix well
- Cover and let rise until double about 1 hour and 15 minutes
- Punch down and turn into prepared pan
- Cover and let rise about 30 minutes
- Bake at 350 for 40 to 50 minutes
