In mixing bowl cream together butter or margarine and sugar Blend in milk and vanilla or rum flavoring Stir in flour chopped cherries and pecans Form dough into two 8-inch rolls Roll in flaked coconut to coat outside
Wrap in plastic wrap and chill thoroughly Cut into 14-inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheet Bake at 375 until edges are golden about 12 minutes Yields about 5 dozen
