Sauerbraten
Ingredients
- 2 medium onions sliced
- 12 lemon sliced
- 1 c red wine vinegar
- 1 12 c water
- 12 whole cloves
- 6 bay leaves
- 6 whole black peppercorns
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 14 tsp ginger
- 4 lb beef roast
- 2 Tbsp fat
- 14 c water
- 13 c gingersnaps
Directions
- Combine all but last three ingredients for marinade
- Add meat
- Cover and refrigerate for about 36 hours
- Turn meat two times daily
