Sausage Cheese Grits Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 c water
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 1 c Jim Dandy quick grits
  • 1 12 c 6 oz grated sharp Cheddar cheese divided
  • 14 c 12 stick butter
  • 4 eggs lightly beaten
  • 12 c milk
  • 1 lb sausage browned and drained

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. Grease a 3-quart baking dish Bring water and salt to a boil in a large saucepan
  3. Slowly pour in grits
  4. Cover reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes stirring occasionally
  5. Remove from heat Stir in 1 cup cheese and butter until melted
  6. Add eggs milk and sausage blend well
  7. Pour mixture into prepared dish
  8. Sprinkle with remaining cheese
  9. Bake 1 hour or until cheese is golden brown Cool for 10 minutes before serving
  10. Makes 6 to 8 servings
