Sausage With Fried Apples

Ingredients

  • 2 lb bulk pork sausage
  • 2 medium apples crisp and tart
  • 12 c grape jelly
  • 18 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Shape sausage into 12 patties
  2. Fry in a large skillet over low heat until well done but not crisp
  3. Remove to heated platter keep warm
  4. Pour off all but 4 tablespoons drippings
  5. Core apples but do not pare
  6. Cut into rings about 12-inch thick
  7. Arrange apple slices in skillet
  8. Top with grape jelly and cinnamon
  9. Cook over low heat
  10. Cover for several minutes to soften apples Uncover cook until apples are tender and well glazed turn often being careful to keep shape of apples
  11. Arrange on platter with sausage
  12. Garnish with grape glaze
  13. Serve immediately
