Savory Kraut

Ingredients

• 1 Tbsp butter
• 1 medium onion coarsely chopped
• 1 can sauerkraut dont drain
• 12 c water
• 2 Tbsp dark brown sugar
• 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
• caraway seed as desired

Directions

1. Saute onion in butter until golden add other ingredients Cover and simmer gently until most of liquid is gone
2. This is excellent with Hillshire Farm Polish sausage wieners or to use in Reuben sandwiches
