Savory Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 large onion chopped
• 2 15 oz cans tomato sauce
• 1 garlic clove minced
• 1 bay leaf
• 1 Tbsp minced fresh basil or 1 tsp dried
• 2 tsp minced fresh oregano or 34 tsp dried
• 2 tsp sugar
• 12 to 1 tsp salt
• 12 tsp pepper
• fresh oregano optional

Directions

1. In Dutch oven cook ground beef and onion until meat is browned and onion is tender drain
2. Add next eight ingredients bring to a boil
3. Reduce heat cover and simmer for 1 hour stirring occasionally
4. Remove bay leaf
5. Yields 4 to 6 servings about 1 quart
