Scalloped Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 4 c chopped cabbage
  • 3 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 12 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 34 c bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp butter melted

Directions

  1. Place cabbage in a greased 2-quart casserole set aside
  2. In a saucepan heat oil over medium heat
  3. Stir in flour salt and pepper cook until bubbly
  4. Gradually stir in milk cook and stir until thickened
  5. Fold in cheese
  6. Pour over cabbage
  7. Combine bread crumbs and butter sprinkle on top
  8. Bake uncovered at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes or until bubbly
  9. Serve immediately Yield 4 to 6 servings
