Scalloped Potatoes With Bacon And Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 garlic clove halved
- 8 large baking potatoes peeled and halved
- 6 oz bacon chopped
- salt and pepper
- 2 c milk
- 12 c heavy cream
- 14 tsp celery seed
- 4 oz shredded Cheddar
Directions
- Cook potatoes until cooked through
- Chill
- Fry bacon until crisp
- Reserve fat
- Rub casserole dish with garlic
- Discard Grate potatoes
- Put half into dish
- Season with salt and pepper
- Put on 12 chopped bacon and 2 tablespoons fat
- Repeat with remaining potatoes and bacon
- Combine milk and cream
- Pour over potatoes
- Sprinkle with celery seed and cheese
- Cover with aluminum foil
- Bake at 350 for 25 minutes
- Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving
