Scalloped Potatoes With Bacon And Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove halved
  • 8 large baking potatoes peeled and halved
  • 6 oz bacon chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 c milk
  • 12 c heavy cream
  • 14 tsp celery seed
  • 4 oz shredded Cheddar

Directions

  1. Cook potatoes until cooked through
  2. Chill
  3. Fry bacon until crisp
  4. Reserve fat
  5. Rub casserole dish with garlic
  6. Discard Grate potatoes
  7. Put half into dish
  8. Season with salt and pepper
  9. Put on 12 chopped bacon and 2 tablespoons fat
  10. Repeat with remaining potatoes and bacon
  11. Combine milk and cream
  12. Pour over potatoes
  13. Sprinkle with celery seed and cheese
  14. Cover with aluminum foil
  15. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes
  16. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes
  17. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving
