Scotch Raisin Bread
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 c sugar
- 2 c buttermilk
- 23 c molasses
- 3 c flour sifted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 c oatmeal not instant
- 12 c nuts chopped
- 1 c raisins
Directions
- Beat eggs until light
- Add sugar gradually beating until fluffy
- Add molasses and buttermilk mix well
- Sift together flour salt baking powder and baking soda
- Add to egg mixture and mix well
- Add oatmeal nuts and raisins
- Stir only until blended
- Bake at 350 for 1 hour
- Store 1 day before slicing
