Scotch Raisin Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 c sour milk or buttermilk
  • 23 c dark molasses
  • 3 c sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 12 c uncooked oatmeal regular or quick type
  • 12 c chopped nuts
  • 1 12 c raisins

Directions

  1. Beat eggs until light
  2. Add sugar gradually while beating stir in milk and molasses
  3. Beat well
  4. Sift dry ingredients except oatmeal and nuts together
