Scotch Scones

Ingredients

  • 4 12 c flour
  • 1 lb butter or margarine
  • 1 c sugar
  • sprinkle of salt and nutmeg
  • 1 12 tsp almond flavoring
  • 1 lb chopped almonds optional

Directions

  1. Cream sugar and margarine
  2. Add other ingredients
  3. Form into balls and pat flat about 12-inch thick
  4. Bake slowly at 300 about 1 hour until pale tan in color
  5. While warm sprinkle with confectioners sugar
  6. Store in tins
  7. They are better when aged
