Scottish Timesavers
Ingredients
- 1 12 c flour
- 1 12 c quick cooking rolled oats
- 1 12 c Raisin Bran flakes
- 23 c firmly packed brown sugar
- 14 c toasted sesame seed
- 1 12 tsp salt
- 12 tsp baking soda
- 1 c shortening
- 14 c water
Directions
- Measure all ingredients into large bowl
- Mix at low speed of mixer until a dough forms
- Using well floured rolling pin or well floured fingers roll or pat out dough half at a time on ungreased cookie sheet to a 12 x 8-inch rectangle
- Cut into 2-inch squares Do not separate
- Sprinkle with sugar
- Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown
- Immediately cut into squares along lines
- Cool 2 minutes remove from cookie sheets
