Scripture Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c butter Judges 525
- 2 c sugar Jeremiah 620
- 2 Tbsp honey I Samuel 1425
- 6 eggs Jeremiah 1711
- 4 12 c flour I Kings 422
- 2 tsp baking powder Amos 45
- 1 tsp salt Leviticus 213
- 12 tsp each nutmeg allspice and cinnamon II Chronicles 99
- 12 c milk Judges 419
- 2 c raisins I Samuel 3012
- 2 c dried figs chopped Nahum 312
- 2 c almonds chopped Numbers 178
Directions
- Cream butter sugar and
- honey
- Add
- eggs
- one
- at
- a time beating well after
- each
- Combine flour baking powder salt and spices
- Blend
- into
- butter mixture alternately with milk
- Stir in raisins figs and almonds
- Bake in greased and floured 12-cup tube or Bundt pan

- Use toothpick to test for doneness
- Cool 10 minutes and then invert on serving plate
