Scripture Cake

Ingredients
- 3 12 c sifted all-purpose flour 1 Kings 422
- 3 tsp baking powder Galatians 59
- 14 tsp salt Leviticus 213
- 1 12 tsp ground cinnamon
- 12 tsp nutmeg
- 12 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground allspice 1 Kings 102
- 1 c butter softened Judges 525
- 2 c firmly packed brown sugar Jeremiah 620
- 2 Tbsp honey Exodus 1631
- 6 eggs Luke 1112
- 1 8 oz pkg pitted dates chopped Deuteronomy 343
- 2 c raisins 1 Samuel 3012
- 1 c walnuts chopped Solomon 611
- 1 c milk Judges 525
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325
- Grease and flour a 10 x 4-inch angel cake tube pan
- Sift flour baking powder salt cinnamon nutmeg cloves and allspice onto wax paper
- Beat the butter sugar honey and eggs in a large bowl with an electric mixer until they are light and fluffy about 3 minutes
- Sprinkle 14 cup of the flour mixture over the fruits and nuts
- Add remaining flour mixture alternately with the milk to the fluffy butter mixture beating until smooth
- Stir in fruits and nuts
- Spoon into prepared pan Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until the top springs back when lightly touched with fingertips
- Cool pan on wire rack for 20 minutes loosen around edge and tube with a knife
- Turn out on rack cool completely
- Wrap in foil or plastic
- Cake slices best the next day
