Shahi Pilaf

Ingredients

  • 4 c basmati rice
  • 1 stick butter or clarified butter
  • cinnamon stick crushed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 6 pods cardamon
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp raisins
  • 2 Tbsp pistachios
  • 2 Tbsp almonds

Directions

  1. Wash the rice and set aside to drain
  2. Heat the butter in a nonstick pan
  3. Add cinnamon stick cardamon pods bay leaves and cloves and stir for 1 12 minutes
  4. Add salt and water 8 cups to rice then bring to boil stirring it a couple of times
  5. Reduce heat to low
  6. Add raisins almonds and pistachios
  7. Cook covered for 10 minutes
  8. Serve piping hot
