Shaum TorteMeringue Shells
Ingredients
- 3 egg whites
- 14 tsp cream of tartar
- 34 c sugar
Directions
- Heat oven to 275
- Cover baking sheet with heavy brown paper Beat egg whites
- Add cream of tartar and beat until foamy
- Beat in sugar one teaspoon at a time until stiff and glossy
- Do not underbeat
- On brown paper shape meringue into 9-inch circle building up sides
- Bake 1 12 hours
- Turn off oven
- Leave in oven with door closed for 1 hour
- Finish cooling out of oven away from draft
- Put on plate and fill with strawberries and ice cream
- Top with Cool Whip
