Sherry Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg ladyfingers
  • 1 pkg plain gelatin
  • 14 c cold water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 12 c sugar plus 12 c sugar each 12 used at a different time
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 34 c sherry
  • 4 eggs whites
  • 12 pt whipped cream
  • shavings of chocolate

Directions

  1. Line two pie pans with ladyfingers
  2. Dissolve gelatin in cold water
  3. Beat egg yolks sugar salt and sherry
  4. Put in double boiler and cook until thick
  5. Add to gelatin
  6. Beat egg whites and the other 12 cup sugar until glossy
  7. Fold into mixture
  8. Pour into pie pans
  9. Let cool
  10. Top with whipped cream
  11. Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top
