Shrimp Rice

Shrimp Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shrimp, cleaned
  • 4 to 6 slices bacon
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 c. cooked rice

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp.
  2. Crumble and set aside.
  3. Drain and reserve 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  4. Add onion and celery.
  5. Cook until tender, but not brown.
  6. Stir in flour. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and shrimp.
  7. Cook and stir about 3 minutes or until shrimp turn pink.
  8. Add margarine; stir until melted.
  9. Combine shrimp mixture and hot rice.
  10. Garnish with bacon. Serves 8.
