Slow Cooked Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 12 to 2 lb round steak
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 14 c soy sauce
  • 1 c chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 12 tsp salt
  • 14 tsp pepper
  • 14 tsp ground ginger
  • 4 tomatoes cut into eighths or 1 16 oz can tomatoes with liquid
  • 2 large green peppers cut into strips
  • 12 c cold water
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

Directions

  1. Cut steak into strips
  2. Brown in oil in a skillet
  3. Transfer to a slow cooker
  4. Combine the next 7 ingredients
  5. Pour over beef
  6. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or until meat is tender
  7. Add tomatoes and green peppers
  8. Cook for 1 hour longer Combine the cold water and cornstarch to make a paste
  9. Stir into liquid in cooker and cook on high until thickened
  10. Serve over noodles or rice
