Smoked Sausage And Apple-Kraut

Ingredients

  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 4 c sauerkraut rinsed and drained
  • 2 Granny Smith apples grated
  • 2 c apple juice
  • 12 tsp dried thyme

Directions

  1. Mix sauerkraut apples and thyme in a Dutch oven
  2. Put the smoked sausage on top
  3. Poke the sausage several times with a fork
  4. Pour the apple juice in the Dutch oven Simmer in covered pan for 12 hour
  5. If there is too much liquid continue to simmer uncovered until the liquid is reduced
