Soft Butter Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 c butter or margarine
• 3 c xxxx sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 14 qt 5 c all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp soda
• 2 tsp cream of tartar
• 12 tsp salt

Directions

1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy
2. Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla
3. Beat well
4. Sift together dry ingredients
5. Blend into creamed mixture
6. Chill
7. Roll on floured board and cut
8. Bake at 400 for 6 minutes
