Soft Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 c sugar
• 1 c molasses
• 1 c melted Crisco
• 4 tsp baking soda
• 23 c hot water
• 2 tsp vanilla
• 5 c flour
• 1 12 tsp cream of tartar
• 1 12 tsp ginger
• 12 tsp cloves
• 1 12 tsp cinnamon
• 34 tsp salt

Directions

1. Mix together sugar molasses and Crisco
2. Add egg
3. Dissolve soda in hot water
4. Add to sugar mixture
5. Add vanilla
6. Mix in flour cream of tartar ginger cloves cinnamon and salt
7. Chill and roll out
8. Makes good gingerbread men
