Soft Pretzels

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf frozen white bread dough thawed
  • 1 egg white beaten with 1 tsp water
  • about 3 tsp coarse salt

Directions

  1. Cover dough let rise until doubled
  2. Divide in 12 equal pieces
  3. With lightly floured hands roll each in 16-inch rope Form in pretzel shape
  4. In large skillet bring 2 inches water to boil
  5. Slip pretzels a few at a time into gently boiling water Cook until pretzels rise to surface about 45 seconds
  6. Remove with slotted spoon drain on paper towel
  7. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet
  8. Brush with egg white mixture
  9. Sprinkle with salt
  10. Do not let pretzels rise
  11. Bake immediately in preheated 400 oven for 15 to 20 minutes until browned
