Soft Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 2 c sugar
• 2 or 3 eggs
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 34 c shortening
• 1 c sour milk or buttermilk
• 1 tsp soda
• 4 c flour

Directions

1. Cream together the sugar and shortening
2. Add eggs
3. In a separate bowl sift together the flour salt baking powder and soda
4. Add to sugar mixture alternating with milk
5. Add vanilla Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet
6. Bake until slightly golden in a 350 oven
7. Frost with lemon icing
