Sour Cream Candy

Ingredients
- 2 c sugar
- 12 c sour cream
- 13 c white syrup
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 14 tsp salt
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 c nuts
- 14 c chopped candied cherries
Directions
- Combine first 5 ingredients in saucepan bring to a boil stirring slowly until sugar melts
- Then boil without stirring over medium heat to soft ball stage
- Remove from heat
- Let stand 15 minutes
- Do not stir
- Add vanilla beat until it starts to lose its gloss about 8 minutes
- Add cherries and nuts
- Pour into buttered pan
