Sour Cream Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c butter
  • 3 c sugar
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 3 c sifted cake flour
  • 14 tsp baking soda
  • 18 tsp salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Allow butter to soften at room temperature
  2. Sift cake flour and measure
  3. Add soda and salt to flour Sift three times
  4. Set aside
  5. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  6. Add sour cream
  7. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each one Slowly add flour mixture
  8. Stir in vanilla
  9. Put batter into 10-inch tube pan sprayed with Bakers Joy
  10. Place in cold oven and bake at 300 for 1 12 hours
  11. As soon as cake is done run knife around edge and remove from pan
