Spaghetti With Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 medium carrots finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 28 oz cans tomatoes cut up
  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano crushed
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of crushed pepper

Directions

  1. In a 3-quart saucepan cook onion carrots and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown Add undrained tomatoes sugar salt oregano pepper and red pepper Bring to boiling reduce heat Simmer uncovered for 45 to 60 minutes or to desired consistency
  2. Cook pasta in large amount of boiling salted water until tender drain well Serve with tomato mixture Serves 8
