Ingredients

  • 1 pkg unflavored gelatin
  • 3 c milk
  • 3 large or extra large eggs
  • 12 c sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Sprinkle gelatin over milk
  2. Let stand 5 minutes then heat until dissolved
  3. Separate eggs
  4. Beat egg whites to peaks
  5. Beat yolks in large bowl
  6. Pour gelatin mixture into egg yolks slowly then pour back into pan and add sugar
  7. Cook until custard coats spoon 8 to 12 minutes
  8. Add vanilla
  9. Pour custard over egg whites and cool
