Spanish Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 14 c sliced celery
  • 14 c diced onion
  • 1 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 23 c water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 12 tsp basil
  • 1 c uncooked rice

Directions

  1. In large skillet brown chops in hot oil
  2. Remove chops
  3. Add celery and onion and cook lightly about 3 minutes
  4. Drain fat Stir in remaining ingredients add chops
  5. Bring to a boil
  6. Lower heat
  7. Cover and simmer 30 minutes
