Spice Jam Cake

Ingredients

• 1 c sugar
• 12 c butter or Crisco
• 1 egg
• 1 c jam or jelly
• 1 c milk
• 2 c flour
• 1 tsp soda
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp nutmeg
• 1 tsp cloves or allspice
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 12 c nut meats
• 1 12 c raisins if desired

Directions

1. Cream sugar and shortening until creamy add beaten egg
2. Add jam or jelly and mix well
3. Sift flour baking powder soda spices and salt three times
4. Add flour alternately with milk and vanilla
5. Bake in moderate oven at 350 for 1 hour
