Spicy Pumpkin Cake

Ingredients

• 12 c packed brown sugar
• 12 c butter or margarine softened
• 2 eggs
• 34 c buttermilk
• 12 c canned pumpkin
• 12 c light molasses
• 2 12 c all-purpose flour
• 2 tsp finely shredded orange peel
• 1 tsp baking soda
• 12 tsp salt
• 12 tsp ground cinnamon
• 12 tsp ground ginger
• sifted powdered sugar

Directions

1. Grease and lightly flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan
2. In mixer bowl cream together brown sugar and butter or margarine until light
3. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each
4. Combine buttermilk pumpkin and molasses
5. Thoroughly stir together flour orange peel soda salt and spices
6. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk mixture beating after each addition
