Split Pea Chowder
Ingredients
- 3 c diced cooked chicken
- 1 12 c finely chopped carrots
- 1 c finely chopped onions
- 34 c finely chopped celery
- 2 medium potatoes peeled and diced
- 18 tsp dried thyme leaves
- 1 16 oz pkg green split peas rinsed and drained
- 8 c chicken broth
- 14 tsp salt
- 18 tsp pepper
Directions
- In 5-quart Dutch oven combine all ingredients bring to a boil
- Reduce heat cover and simmer approximately 2 hours or until chowder has thickened stirring occasionally
- Makes 8 1 12 cup servings
