Ingredients

  • 1 c sugar
  • 1 c dark corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix sugar corn syrup and vinegar in saucepan
  2. Cover tightly bring to a boil
  3. Uncover place a candy thermometer in the pan Without stirring cook over medium heat to 300
  4. Gradually lower heat as mixture thickens to prevent scorching
  5. Remove from heat quickly stir in the baking soda and vanilla
  6. Turn into a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan
  7. Do not spread candy will spread itself
  8. Cool break into pieces
