Spooned Halva

Ingredients

  • 14 lb butter
  • 1 c farina
  • 12 c chopped nuts
  • 2 c water
  • 1 c sugar

Directions

  1. Melt butter in deep pan add farina and cook until golden color stirring constantly
  2. Stir in chopped nuts
  3. Reduce heat Meanwhile bring water and sugar to a slow boil
  4. Cook 3 minutes Pour syrup slowly over farina stirring with wooden spoon until halva is slightly thickened
  5. Remove from heat
  6. Cover let stand 10 minutes
  7. Shape with individual molds or with spoon
  8. Place on large platters and sprinkle with cinnamon
