Spotted Dick

Ingredients

• 8 oz flour 2 heaped c
• 14 tsp salt
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 4 oz 1 stick margarine
• 3 oz sugar 23 c
• 4 oz currants level c
• milk to mix

Directions

1. Mix flour salt and baking powder
2. Add the margarine sugar and currants
3. Mix with sufficient milk to make a soft dough Place dough in a greased basin filling it 23 full and cover with wax paper and foil
4. Steam in a covered saucepan for 2 to 3 hours Serve with a custard sauce or sprinkled with brown sugar
