Spring Breakfast Strata

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 3 c milk
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine melted
  • 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 c 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 lb fully cooked ham cubed
  • 1 pkg 10 oz frozen cut asparagus thawed or 2 c fresh cut asparagus cooked
  • 2 c sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 10 c cubed bread

Directions

  1. In a large bowl beat eggs add milk mustard basil and salt Gently stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed
  2. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish
  3. Cover and refrigerate 8 hours or over night
  4. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking
  5. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 hour or until knife inserted near the center comes out clean
  6. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting
