Steak Soup Kansas Style

Ingredients
- 1 lb round steak minced
- 1 c butter or margarine
- 1 c all-purpose flour
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 large carrot chopped
- 3 stalks celery chopped
- 1 can tomatoes chopped
- 3 qt beef stock or consomme
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 12 c light cream or half and half
Directions
- Brown meat in butter stir in flour until smooth
- Add onion carrot and celery cook 10 minutes stirring often
- Add remaining ingredients except cream bring to a boil
- Simmer 1 to 3 hours The longer the soup cooks the better it is
- Add cream during last 5 minutes of cooking
