Steaks Etouffe

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • 7 steaks or 1 round steak making 4 lb total
  • 2 cans 6 oz each mushroom steak sauce
  • 1 c Sauterne wine
  • 1 c chopped onion
  • 14 c chopped pimiento
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp celery seed
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 14 Tbsp bitters Peyshaud or Angostura
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Louisiana hot sauce or 12 tsp Tabasco

Directions

  1. Heat the cooking oil in a Dutch oven
  2. Add the meat and cover with the rest of the ingredients
  3. Salt and pepper to taste Cover and let cook over low heat for 2 to 3 hours
