Stewed Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 fryer cut in 8 pieces
- 1 large green pepper in strips
- 1 c mushrooms halved
- 1 large yellow onion thinly sliced
- 14 c red wine
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 4 large cloves garlic smashed
- 1 Tbsp dried oregano ro 3 Tbsp fresh
- 1 Tbsp sweet basil or 3 Tbsp fresh
- 1 Tbsp dried thyme or 3 Tbsp fresh
- 1 qt jar whole tomatoes
Directions
- Wash cut and dry chicken brown in oil
- Place in 3-quart casserole and add other ingredients
- Cook uncovered 1 12 to 2 hours at 350 or until chicken becomes loosened from bone
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Serves 4
