Ingredients

  • 7 c flour
  • 2 pkg yeast
  • 12 c shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 12 c milk
  • 12 c sugar
  • 2 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Combine 3 cups flour and yeast
  2. Heat milk sugar shortening and salt until warm 115 to 120
  3. Stir constantly until shortening almost melts
  4. Add this to dry mixture
  5. Add eggs Beat at low speed with electric mixer for 12 minute scraping bowl
  6. Beat 3 minutes at high speed
  7. Stir in by hand the remaining flour to make soft dough
  8. Shape into ball place in lightly greased bowl
  9. Turn once to grease surface
  10. Cover let rest in a warm place until it doubles 1 12 to 2 hours
  11. Punch down turn out on floured surface
  12. Cover and let rest 10 minutes Shape into desired rolls
  13. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled 30 to 45 minutes
  14. Bake on greased muffin pans in a 400 oven for 10 to 12 minutes
