Strawberry Freezer Jam

Ingredients

  • 2 c finely mashed fresh strawberries
  • 4 c sugar
  • 1 1 34 oz pkg powdered pectin
  • 34 c water

Directions

  1. Combine strawberries and sugar stirring well
  2. Let mixture stand 20 minutes stirring occasionally
  3. Combine pectin and water in a saucepan stirring well
  4. Bring mixture to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute stirring as it boils
  5. Remove from the stove and stir well again
  6. Pour the pectin mixture over the fruit Stir for 3 minutes
  7. Pour into sterilized jelly glasses or frozen food containers
  8. Cover with lids and let stand at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours or until jelled
  9. Store in freezer up to 1 year or in refrigerator up to 3 weeks
  10. To serve remove and allow to come to room temperature
  11. Yields 5 cups
