Sugar Crisps
Ingredients
- 14 c finely chopped pecans
- 14 c sugar
- 14 lb frozen puff pastry thawed
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375
- Place pastry on sugar sprinkled chopping board
- Sprinkle pastry with 1 tablespoon sugar and finely chopped nuts
- Roll pastry into 12 x 6-inch rectangle add more sugar to keep pastry coated
- Cut rectangle crosswise into 14-inch thick strips
- Twist strips and arrange them on lightly greased baking sheet
- Press ends to keep from untwisting
- Bake in batches in the middle of the oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown
- The crisps may be made up to two days in advance and kept in airtight containers
- Makes 48 crisps
