Sugar Crusted Apples
Ingredients
- 6 large cooking apples
- 13 c flour
- 23 c sugar
- 12 tsp salt
- 12 tsp cinnamon
- 23 stick margarine softened
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 34 c orange juice
- heavy cream
Directions
- Peel and core apples
- Combine flour sugar
- salt
- and cinnamon
- Cut in the margarine until mixture resembles coarse oatmeal
- Roll
- apples
- in
- egg
- then in flour
- mixture
- and arrange
- in
- baking
- panPlace
- any leftover flour
- or
- egg mixture over apples
- Pour orange juice into pan Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until tender
- Baste twice whilebaking
- Spoon juice over warm apples and serve with plain or
- whipped cream Serves 6
