Sugarless Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • pastry for 9-inch double crust pie
  • 6 medium red Delicious apples peeled and sliced
  • 1 6 oz can frozen apple juice without sugar thawed
  • 1 12 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 13 c water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp margarine

Directions

  1. Place apples and undiluted apple juice into a large pan Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer covered for about 5 minutes
  2. Dissolve cornstarch in water
  3. Gently stir cornstarch into apple mixture
  4. Bring to a boil reduce heat and simmer covered for 10 to 15 minutes or until apples begin to soften Stir in cinnamon
  5. Fill pastry shell with apples and cover with top crust
  6. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
  7. Baste with melted margarine after baking
