Sweet-And-Sour Spareribs

Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 lb pork spareribs or pork loin back ribs
  • 12 c packed brown sugar
  • 12 c sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 c catsup
  • 23 c vinegar
  • 12 c cold water

Directions

  1. Place ribs on a rack in large shallow roasting pan
  2. Bake uncovered at 350 for 1 12 hours
  3. Meanwhile combine sugars and cornstarch in medium saucepan
  4. Stir in catsup vinegar and water bring to boil
  5. Cook and stir until thickened and clear
  6. Remove ribs and rack from pan discard fat
  7. Place ribs back in roasting pan
  8. Pour about 1 12 cups of the sauce over ribs
  9. Bake 30 minutes longer
  10. Cut ribs into serving size pieces
  11. Brush with remaining sauce
  12. Makes 6 to 8 servings
