Sweet Bread

Ingredients

• 2 c plain white cornmeal
• 12 c plain flour
• 1 c sugar
• 4 Tbsp bacon drippings
• 1 tsp salt
• 12 tsp soda
• 2 c buttermilk

Directions

1. Mix dry ingredients add milk and drippings
2. Mix well
3. Bake in a loaf pan for 1 12 hours or until brown
4. Bake in a preheated slow 300 oven until brown
5. Cool in pan
6. May be sliced thin with an electric knife or frozen
7. Reheats well
